The Most Popular Cars in 2021

Vehicular transport has been more and more popular since the global pandemic of COVID-19. While most of us prefer to stay indoors and not get exposed to other people and potentially, a virus, others have to travel, commute, work and generally, spend time outside.

For commuters and people who travel, public transport has become a bit more complicated. Even prior to the current pandemic, public transport was an easy way to become infected with whatever anybody is carrying at that moment.

Cars are a logical solution. The car industry slowed down but it hardly came to a stop. Here are the most popular cars of 2021.

Ford F-150

This is quite a truck. It is the most popular truck in the United States and it is not even close. It is also the most popular vehicle that has been sold in the United States in 2021. The 2021 models include standard gasoline engine models, heavy duty models, as well as hybrids. Hybrids are everywhere, in almost every model of every car, which is a very good thing for the environment, at least emissions-wise.

The Ford F-150 is one of the most popular cars in America, in general and 2021 was not different in that regard.

Volkswagen Golf

The Golf from Volkswagen is the hatchback. It was the first hot hatchback and by today’s standards, most hatchbacks are measured by the Golf. It is the standard, and another hatch can be either better or worse. The 2021 models include petrol, diesel, hybrid and fully electric models. This car is popular throughout the world and not just in Europe. While the United States prefers Toyotas and Hondas (due to proximity and quality), Europe is much more familiar with Golfs.

Toyota Camry and BMW 3 Series

These two cars are not that similar in size, the Camry being a longer sedan, but in terms of sales in the US and Europe, they are rivals. While one is a longer class vehicle, both are sedans and are wildly popular on different continents. The Honda Accord and Toyota Corolla are competitors in the US and in Europe, the 3 Series is contested by the Volkswagen Passat, Skoda Octavia and Audi A4 and A6.

Toyota RAV 4, Honda CR-V and VW Tiguan

In the United States, the RAV 4 from Toyota and the CR-V from Honda are among the most popular SUVs that people buy. In Europe, SUVs like the VW Tiguan, Hyundai Tucson, Ford Kuga, Audi Q series, BMW X series and the Dacia Duster are among the contesting SUVs, depending on the country. Preferences for SUVs vary from country to country in Europe, while in the US, the market is primarily dominated by the Japanese.

These are the most popular cars, as well as trucks in 2021. The trend can and will change, as Q4 is upon us and with winter coming. Some numbers will go up, others down, but the list will most likely not change as much. Consider these cars as possible contenders for your new vehicle.
