I had been wondering when this was coming. It seemed like a pretty obvious step (I even included the idea of it in a presentation I gave earlier this year) for Foursquare to take. Mayoral sponsorships and other offers—first timers get a free soda, 8x in a month gets you a free liver transplant—seem like a sure way for venues to encourage new customers and for Foursquare to, you know, not be Twitter.
Now I just hope to get Magnolia on the free beer bandwagon.

Nice.
This is big, like bigger than big. Game-changing, even. (It’s not, but c’mon, have some fun.)

Krucoff = punch in the nuts!
Btw, this is the round of foursquare promos that we’re explicitly calling attention to.  (should be 5 in NYC by end of the week).  Bigger / better stuff in the works, stay tuned.
